FAQ

Got some questions?

How do I go about booking you?

See above process. If anything is still unclear making feel free to email us at hello@lioandco.com.au.

Why should we pick you to capture our day? what makes you different to other wedding photographers and videographers?

If you love our style of work and general vibe, and you are happy with our very reasonable prices and processes then we are absolutely the right team for your big day!

What are the benefits of going through an agency rather than individual photographer/videographer?

  • we are a one stop shop for both photo and video and our shooters have all worked with each other so there is that familiarity and experience shooting with each that you don't get when the photographer and videographer are meeting for the first time at a wedding

  • if your assigned shooters falls ill on your day we guarantee a replacement shooter from our roster is able to step in and shoot your wedding - for peace of mind we ensure that the replacement shooter is also the right vibe for you - this is something that individual photographers and videographers in most cases aren't able to offer

  • You have a team of people holding your hand every step of the way - from our client manager to the shooters on your day

Who will capture our day?

We assign one (or two) of our skilled shooters to capture every moment of your special day. We carefully match the photographer(s)/videographer(s) who will best suit your vibe and according to availability, taking into consideration your preferences, wedding style and locations. Editing is done all in house and overseen and tweaked by Lionel who ensure consistency and the final products are of the highest calibre.

Is full-day coverage necessary?

Typically, based on the run sheets of most couples, we have found that 8 to 10 hours is the ideal duration to set up all the necessary equipment without rushing or compromising the quality of the work. This coverage time allows us to capture everything from the beginning of the day, including the groom and bride preparations, venue and detail shots, the ceremony, location shooting and family photos, the reception, speeches, cake cutting, first dance, sunset shots of the couple (which are particularly important and are usually taken between 8pm and 9pm), everyone enjoying the dance floor, and occasionally a few send-off or sparkler exit shots, depending on when the night concludes. We can do longer days up to 14 hours max but sometimes this requires swapping shooters over after the ceremony or before the reception.

When do we receive our photos / videos?

We know you're eagerly waiting to relive the magical moments from your big day, which is why we guarantee that your film or photographs will be delivered to you between two to six weeks of your wedding date.

How long do you keep our footage / files for?

Rest assured, we have your back! We store all of our highlight films on our secure cloud storage, while all of your graded photos and edited raw footage are kept on our backup drive. However, we do have to say goodbye to the individual raw files (which can take up to a whopping 600+GB per wedding) after 2 months following your special day. So be sure to download your files on more than one device if possible.

Can we meet up before our wedding day? Do you have a an office / studio we can meet you?

Absolutely - We (our client manager Moz or Lionel) usually meet our couples over a Zoom call about one month prior to the wedding to go over the details and run sheet. Since we operate on smaller margins than most high end videography and photography we work remotely so if you would prefer a face to face meet up we can meet at a local cafe.

For extra peace of mind if you would like to speak to the specific shooter/s who will be present at your wedding before hand we can arrange to have them call you in the lead up to the big day.

Are you insured?

Yes, we most certainly are! In fact, it's a common requirement for many wedding venues that any contractors working on their property - such as photographers on the wedding day - be covered by Public Liability Insurance for at least 5 million. So rest assured that we have got you covered. And if you need it, we're more than happy to provide you with a copy of our Public Liability coverage at any time.

Can we pick our music for our videos?

Being that our style is very classic, we often use custom orchestral music to provide the feels for your film. This is because it best serves the cinematic nature of your film. Unfortunately, due to copyright laws and large fines we are not able to use commercial music in your highlights film (you may see other companies do this but they are essentially breaking the law and risking big fines).

Do we need two videographers or photographers shooting our wedding?

We typically shoot weddings with one videographer and one photographer, but we do offer the option of adding a second shooter to your package at an additional cost. While it's not a necessity, a second shooter can be incredibly helpful in capturing all the shenanigans and funny business of your guests, especially at larger weddings with over 100 guests. We highly recommend having a second shooter for weddings with over 120 guests, as it increases our ability to cover every aspect of your special day. So, if you want to ensure that every detail is captured, a second shooter is definitely worth considering!

My partner and I are not comfortable in front of cameras - what is your approach to this?

With our fly on the wall approach - particularly with videography, fear not! We will assign the most candid shooters from our roster to capture your day. We have several ways to help you feel at ease and comfortable with us on your special day. By the time we get to the portrait part of the day, you'll feel completely natural in front of the camera. We'll provide loose direction to ensure that you're in great light and to help your images feel as natural as possible - no cheesy poses here, only timeless, fun, and natural shots.

I've still got a few questions...

Please drop us an email! We always look forward to hearing from you and we're more than happy to provide you with any information or answers that you need. So fire away those questions :)
